With the launch of the all-new S-Class W223, Mercedes-Benz will soon say goodbye to the Coupe and Cabriolet iterations of the previous-generation S-Class.

Time is therefore running out if you're in the market for a new, current-gen two-door S-Class, though you can always take a look at the classifieds as well. There you can find gems like this 2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet with only 65 kilometers (40 miles) on the odometer.

Considering that it is part of a limited series of just 300 units worldwide and has barely moved since being delivered in December 2017, it's safe to say the owner bought it as an investment. Here comes the tricky part, though. When new, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet retailed for €300,000, excluding taxes.

This particular car is offered by dealer Mechatronik in Germany for a whopping €301,600 – including the German VAT of 16 percent. That's the equivalent of $357,500, a very high price when you think about it. Still, for export the VAT would be deducted, bringing down the price to a still hard to swallow €253,344 ($300,500).

You can have a hand-built 2021 Bentley Continental GT Mulliner Convertible for less money, and you can order it from the factory just the way you want. That's not to say that this Maybach S650 Cabriolet is not tastefully configured – far from it.

It combines a black exterior (including a black soft top) with an exclusive full-leather brown and beige interior and comes fitted with all the features that are normally optional on a regular S-Class Cabriolet.

Highlights include LED headlights with Swarowski crystals, 360-degree cameras, night vision system, memory package for the driver, ventilated front seats with massaging function, heated front and rear seats, striped piano black trim, keyless go package, Aircap, Airscarf, driver assistant package plus, air quality package, exclusive package and much, much more.

Powering the Maybach S650 Cabriolet is a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 rated at 630 PS (621 HP / 459 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. It is paired to a seven-speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmission that has the difficult mission of channeling all that muscle to the rear wheels.
